Keith Hemming is one of the founding members of Merit Venture Capital and has taken the company from strength to strength with his acute business acumen and broad industry experience. An investment banking graduate from the University of British Colombia (UBC), Keith has committed over 30 years to investment management and has developed a reputation for success. In his role as Chief Executive Officer, Keith has overseen significant revenue growth and client-base expansion, using his industry knowledge to increase Merit Venture Capital’s reach into markets across the globe.
Chief Financial Officer
With more than 25 years in the investment and finance sector, Douglas Hu has enhanced Merit Venture Capital’s strategic direction and developed an investment model which has increased not only efficiency, but also profitability.
Having earned his Bachelors’ degree in Economics from the University of Hong Kong, Douglas has gone on to work for some of the biggest names in the industry, serving as Chief Investment Strategist for HSBC and Senior Fund Manager for Morgan Stanley, Douglas has brought to Merit Venture Capital an innovative and unique financial investment infrastructure which has helped establish Merit Venture Capital as a leader in the region.
Chief Investment Officer
Alan Chen joined Merit Venture Capital in 2015, having served in several senior positions within the firm, Alan was made Chief Investment Officer in 2017. With Alan’s previous experience with Deloitte and PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and his vast knowledge of the markets, Alan has been instrumental in directing Merit Venture Capital’s investment strategy and developing operational solutions regarding market conditions and investment strategies.
Alan holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from the Peking University.
Samantha-May Lewis joined Merit Venture Capital in 2014 and has significantly improved Merit Venture Capital’s general operations and internal policy development. Increasing efficiency and maintaining strict company adherence to standards and ethical practices, she has streamlined our operations enabling Merit Venture Capital to offer our clients a first-class service.
Having held positions in the private sector such as compliance officer and internal development officer for Barclays and Santander, she has supported our internal and external growth by applying the highest industry standards to our company.
